Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (ICAO: KGSP, FAA LID: GSP, IATA: GSP), previously known as Roger Milliken Field, is between the Upstate cities of Greenville and Spartanburg and near Greer, South Carolina, United States.

The airport is in Spartanburg County, with a small area in Greenville. It's in an unincorporated area near Greer.

It is labeled as a small-hub primary commercial service facility by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inside the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017-2021.

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport covers 3,500 acres (1,400 ha) and has four asphalt/concrete runways, each measuring 11,001 feet 150 feet (3,353 m 46 m).

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport has 13 gates and a wide range of services in one convenient, easy-to-navigate terminal, enabling you to get to your destination.

The airport offers services using seven passenger airlines and their regional affiliates. All the airport's service is domestic flights.

History of Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport

Each city had its airport and competed for airline services before constructing the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP).

Roger Milliken, a textile heir, industrialist, and businessman (CEO of Milliken & Company), worked with other Upstate business leaders in the mid-1950s to secure a shared airport for the two cities.

A proposal for an air terminal between the two cities presented to the legislative delegation for the two counties in 1958 was approved and the establishment of an airport commission led by Milliken.

GSP opened on October 15, 1962, taking over as the primary airline destination in the region from Greenville Downtown Airport. In 2004, the airfield was named Milliken.

High fares plagued GSP after being served by legacy carriers with significant hubs in nearby Atlanta and Charlotte.

Southwest's presence is an unprecedented 38% increase in passenger numbers between 2010 and 2011.

In 2011, Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport received an ANNIE Award from Airline and Airport News & Analysis for garnering the fastest-growing small airport in the United States.

Based on the Department of Transportation's Bureau of Travel Statistics, average GSP fares decreased by 14%, the most significant decrease in the country for 2012.

The airport has one air terminal building with two concourses: Concourse A (gates A1-A9) and Concourse B (gates A10-A19) (gates B1–B4).

American, Southwest, and United use Concourse A. Concourse B is used by Allegiant Air and Delta.

Through immigration and customs checkpoints, the airport can handle up to 250 passengers per hour.

FedEx has a significant package facility on the airport's north end. In contrast, BMW has a facility that allows easy transfer of arriving parts to the company's manufacturing facility three miles east.

Many equestrian teams used the airport to transport horses to and from the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games nearby Tryon, North Carolina.

Plans for the terminal are to expand by 300% of its current capacity and to add another runway parallel to the existing one.
